The 'Settings' menu on AppRadio 2 is quite extensive |
With the 'Dimmer' feature, there is no need to manually adjust brightness at night. As you can see in the video above, the this feature can be found under the 'Settings' menu on AppRadio 2. With the dimming function turned on, the screen automatically dims when the car's headlights (or parking lights) are turned on. Turn the lights off and the screen returns to normal brightness. A nicely thought out function.
I think I want one, when they aren't over $1000 in the UK...
ReplyDeleteTrouble is though, the features are worrying me, I have a P3100DVD... and so far the Appradio 2 seems to have LESS going for it than my P3100DVD...
That auto headlight dim is on my P3100, and looking at your previous comments, the Appradio 2 has a very limited audio equaliser?
Is there a reason mine doesn't automatically adjust with the headlights? I haven't been able to adjust it other then manually doing it myself.
ReplyDeleteMy AppRadio 2 does it automatically. Did you try adjusting the dimmer in the settings menu? Otherwise it may not have been wired properly.
DeleteI could manually adjust it in the dimmer settings but it won't automatically adjust with the intererior light dimmer. I guess I'll have to take it to get it checked out where I had it installed. Thanks.
DeleteThe interior light dimmer has not effect on the actually dimming of the App Radio. The App Radio dims to the user chosen preset brightness, when the headlights are turned on.
DeleteThe problem I'm having is that the App Radio backlight pulses (flickers) whenever I turn the headlights on. It's rather annoying.
Sorry. I meant "no effect", Damn fat fingers.
DeleteInstallers need to connect the Orange/White lead to your lighting switch. Not done by default I noticed. Also, Brightness, Contrast and Dimmer all have two settings. One with your lights off and one with your lights on. Cool feature.
ReplyDeleteNot that cool. In some countries (Norway among others) are there mandatory to drive with lights on, independent of daylight or not. So my appradio (SPH-DAH100) are dimmed and difficult to read whenever I drive... Maybe it will help to cut the orange/white lead?
DeleteActually I cannot manually adjust the dimmer setting as it is "greyed out" in the meny. Someone knows what to do?
You need to ground your parking brake first. Once you ground that wire, the menu item should not be "greyed out" Hope that helps!
DeleteI cant get the dim to work but ive just installed it as it should be?
