Apple Music Gets Steady Improvements; Works Well In CarPlay [Review]
Following its announcement at WWDC 2015, Apple Music was launched back on June 30. Apple announced a three-month free trial at the time, which means anyone who signed up on launch day will get to enjoy all the music in iTunes, free of charge until the end of September.
After the trial period ends, Apple will charge individual users $9.99 a month. The initial announcement had the expected response with competing services like Spotify, Rhapsody and Pandora One quite clearly feeling the heat.
Apple Music kicked off with a few issues though, many of which have been fixed since. With the recent release of iOS 8.4.1 a few days back, Apple has tried to improve the service even further. In fact, iOS 8.4.1 was primarily an Apple Music update.
Here's what to expect with Apple Music, especially when using it in your car with CarPlay.

Why You And Your Car Deserve The Pioneer AVH-4100NEX: Full Review [Pictures]
Pioneer Electronics announced its second generation NEX head units at CES 2015 earlier this year. The biggest addition to the products was Android Auto compatibility. But Pioneer's latest and greatest head units offer more than just that.
Whether you are an Android or iOS user, Pioneer's second generation NEX devices has you covered. Want Apple CarPlay? You got it! Want Android Auto? You got it! Three of the five NEX head units announced at CES 2015 offer both technologies.
The AVIC-8100NEX is Pioneer's flagship head unit. The AVIC-8100NEX, along with the AVIC-7100NEX offers standalone GPS systems that do not require smartphone connectivity to work. But this also means these devices are significantly higher priced.
If you're on a budget but still want to have the latest in-car technology in your vehicle, the AVH-4100NEX maybe your best bet. Pioneer sent out a review unit to me a few weeks back and I have been testing it out since.
Let me tell you why you and your car deserve to have the best double-DIN head unit without breaking the bank. This is my full review of the device.

Unboxing The Pioneer AVH-4100NEX: Review Part 1 [Pictures]
Three of Pioneer's five second generation NEX head units are Android Auto compatible. Out of those three, the entry level AVH-4100NEX, gives users an affordable option to get the latest in-car software in the vehicles they already own.
Pioneer sent me the AVH-4100NEX for review a while ago and I finally got it installed. I have been testing and building up a full review on it out ever since. Although that full review is still a few days away, here is the unboxing of the head unit. Plenty more to follow.

Pioneer AppRadio 4 (SPH-DA120) Review: The Best AppRadio Yet! [Full Review]
Pioneer Electronics' AppRadio line has undergone a gradual transformation over the last few years. The previous generation models had modest improvements over their predecessors. The AppRadio 3, for example, came with Bluetooth streaming and a CD/DVD drive along with a slightly faster interface.
The recently announced AppRadio 4 (SPH-DA120) however, takes upgrades to a whole new level over the AppRadio 3. And I'm not talking about Apple CarPlay alone. Yes, that's a big addition but there are a whole spectrum of other features that will make the device one of the highly desired head units this holiday season.
We have been testing out the AppRadio 4, which was sent to us by Pioneer Electronics, for a few days now, and this is our full in-depth review.

Never Back Into Thrash Cans Again With The Pioneer ND-BC6 Rear View Camera [Video]
Backup cameras will become mandatory on all vehicles in the United States by May 2018. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), a simple backup camera may help reduce backing up accidents which result in nearly 210 deaths every year.
By the time the law goes into effect, all automakers will make the backup feature standard in their vehicles. But between now and then you can equip your vehicle with a backup camera if you own one of Pioneer's compatible head units (AppRadio 3, NEX Receivers, 2014 Audio Video and Navigation units).
The 2014 version of the ND-BC6 rear view camera is compact, has wide viewing angles and relatively easy to install. Watch this feature/review video from "Lessco Electronics" (YouTube)...

This Is What Speedometer By Sygic Looks Like On An AppRadio 3 [Image]
We wrote a short review yesterday about the new app Speedometer by Sygic. You should check out the app if you haven't already. The app is a simple-looking speedometer with a few additional features that aren't robust yet due to limited crowd-sourced data available.
Speedometer isn't AppRadio compatible but I think it should be. If it does add AppRadio Mode compatibility though, this is what it might look like on an AppRadio 3...

Speedometer is an app by Sygic that not only gives you speed information but also does a couple of other things. With a simple looking interface the app is designed mainly to give you speed trap information along your route. This includes red light cameras, police traps and even traffic incidents.
I briefly tried this app yesterday and this is how it works.

Declutter Your AppRadio Setup With The CableJive dockXtender [Review]
For the longest time we have pursued an extension cable for Apple's lightning digital AV adapter. There were cheap options available from eBay but most of them aren't reliable. I even tried a DIY cable which didn't materialize.
The search ends today with the CableJive dockXtender Lightning Version. This is the only reliable lightning cable extender available at the moment. Other solutions may be available but not always reliable.
We received a review unit of the dockXtender from CableJive so thanks to them. Here is our complete review.

Car mounts are an important component of driving helping you keep your hands on the steering wheel while having a clear view of your phone. Over the last few weeks I have reviewed a couple of smartphone car mounts; the minimalistic Kenu Airframe and the magnetic Wallee M. They both have their own pros and cons.
The mount we are reviewing today is the NEO GRAB Universal Smartphone Holder. I have been using it in my car over the past week.

The Wallee M iPhone Car Mount Mounted In The Car: Review Part 2 [Pictures]
As promised in part 1 of our Wallee M iPhone Car Mount review, here are some pictures of how the mount looks in action. The suction cup gives you the option of mounting it either on your dashboard or the windshield of your car. There are a few notes I would like to add to the review though.
Read the rest of our review and view the additional pictures below.
Note: The mounting disk I've used when mounting on the dashboard was the one I got with my Garmin GPS (which I haven't used for a while now).
