Major EC Touch For AppRadio Update Released For iOS 7


EC Touch for AppRadio is an app that brings together many functions to one interface. You can even listen to Spotify Radio or SoundCloud through EC Touch even though those individual apps aren't AppRadio compatible.

The iOS app was updated yesterday to version 3.1 to fix many of the existing issues with iOS 7. Full details of this major release are below the break.

"iOS In The Car" Teaser Video Surfaces [BREAKING]


Just last week we posted about Apple's "iOS in the Car" screenshots that were uncovered by developer Steven Troughton-Smith. Now, the same developer has posted a YouTube video showing how "iOS in the Car" may work in your vehicle.

Additional Language Support Added To CarMediaPlayer App


CarMediaPlayer is an app from Pioneer Electronics that is AppRadio compatible and is an alternative to the native Music apps on iOS or Android. The iOS version of the app was updated yesterday to version 1.7.1 to add five new language support. A complete description is after the jump.

AppRadio App Updated To Fully Support iPhone 5C & 5S


Pioneer Electronics have updated their AppRadio app to version 2.6 today. Support for additional languages has been added along with one big addition. The app is now fully compatible with the iPhone 5C and 5S.

Apple's Upcoming "iOS In The Car" Screenshots Uncovered [BREAKING]


In June of last year Apple announced "iOS in the Car", its own way of integrating arguably the best smartphone operating system in vehicles. Details about how and what it would look like have been sparse since then. There were only a few screenshots Apple posted on its website and showcased at WWDC 2013.

Just yesterday, however, iOS developer Steven Troughton-Smith uncovered new screenshots which show what the interface will look like on the iPhone. It looks very Apple-esque as in it's clean-cut and sleek. Additional screenshots which Steven posted to his Twitter account are below the break.

Garmin Announces Nuvi 2798LMT With Backup Camera [CES 2014]

Ticket For Driving Wearing Google Glass Tossed [Report]


The highly anticipated verdict in the Google Glass traffic violation is out. Tech enthusiasts and others have been waiting expectantly for what would happen to the case involving a woman who was cited for wearing Google Glass while driving.

A court date was set for California resident Cecilia Abadie who was pulled over late last year for speeding and cited for wearing Google's wearable device. California vehicle code 27602, prohibits operating a video-display in front of the driver's head rest where it can distract the driver.

The Biggest Car Tech News From CES Is The Open Automotive Alliance [CES 2014]


The biggest buzz at CES this year was around wearable tech and in-car technology. Google stepped up to the plate in response to Apple's "iOS in the Car" announcement from last year with its own Open Automotive Alliance (OAA). Audi's Next Generation Car Entertainment Will Involve A 10-inch Tablet [CES 2014]


We reported last week about Audi's plan of announcing an Android based car entertainment system at CES 2014. At the tech show the car company has announced that in fact they will introduce a 10.2 inch Android tablet.

The tablet won't just be one that you hook into your car's dashboard though. At the CES 2014 press conference Audi Head of Electric and  Electronics Development, Ricky Hudi, said "It (the tablet) represents the perfect combination of the latest technology from the world of consumer goods with the sturdiness and reliability from the world of cars."

It Is Now Safe To Jailbreak Your 64-Bit iDevice With Evasi0n [Jailbreak]


Just before 2014 came along, Jay 'saurik' Freeman, the creator of the jailbroken app store Cydia, updated Mobile Substrate for iOS 7 and the new 64-bit chip Apple uses in its iPhone 5S, iPad Air and iPad Mini with Retina.

What does this means for end-users like you and me? It means the once unstable untethered Evasi0n 7 jailbreak can now be safely installed on one of the 64-bit devices.

AppEx Update For iOS 7 Is In The Works [Jailbreak]


Whenever a new untethered jailbreak for iOS gets released there is a lot of buzz that goes around. AppRadio users are especially concerned about AppRadio Extensions or AppEx, an open source tweak that makes the AppRadio experience much better.

The last version of AppEx had enabled mirroring with full touch control from the AppRadio making it an iOS version of ARLiberator for Android. AppEx developer, Mike DeCaro, made the software open source earlier last year citing lack of time to devote to the project.

He is, however, still committed to furthering its development and has posted an update regarding a possible update to AppEx to make it work with iOS 7 and the latest Evasi0n7 jailbreak. His message regarding this is posted after the jump.

HondaLink Apps Run Perfectly In AppRadio Mode [Video]


One of our readers, Daniel Zaglul, has stumbled across an interesting piece of functionality. Honda's latest in-car entertainment system, HondaLink, may well have be developed by Pioneer. According to a video made by Daniel, the HondaLink apps work with full functionality in AppRadio Mode.
