Whenever a new untethered jailbreak for iOS gets released there is a lot of buzz that goes around. AppRadio users are especially concerned about AppRadio Extensions or AppEx, an open source tweak that makes the AppRadio experience much better.
The last version of AppEx had enabled mirroring with full touch control from the AppRadio making it an iOS version of ARLiberator for Android. AppEx developer, Mike DeCaro, made the software open source earlier last year citing lack of time to devote to the project.
He is, however, still committed to furthering its development and has posted an update regarding a possible update to AppEx to make it work with iOS 7 and the latest Evasi0n7 jailbreak. His message regarding this is posted after the jump.

Hey everyone, just a quick status update.
I started looking into AppEx for iOS 7. I should be able to get all of the smaller features working but the mirrored apps may or may not take some time. Another developer contacted me about contributing to the project, so I'm working on getting him set up with the code. Hopefully this helps things move along at a better rate.
I'll start posting versions for iOS 7 as they become available.

SBRotator 7 has been submitted to Cydia as well (which works awesome with AppEx)

ReplyDeleteHaving the same issues as Alton Knowles, When I change the apps that I want to show from the unsupported apps in settings. It crashes my springboard, though when i restart it, it still saves the app in which caused the crash??

ReplyDeletehttp://mikedecaro.com/appex/ don't think there will be an update for IOS the developer hasn't been active online in months last update was April 2014 there were some people willing to donate over at avid 411 site/forum but unless we know for sure he will start working on an update i don't think that group will donate. Im hoping someone decides to do a Carplay Extension or add that will be similar to AppRadioEx if App Radio Extensions doesn't get update.
DeleteGreatly appreciate Mr. DeCaro taking this project on. Wish I knew how to code, I would offer to help. We are now on iOS 8, which would make an iOS 7 update obsolete before it's even completed. Wish someone would take this project on and just charge people for it. This is one app that I would gladly purchase. Seems like the project has been abandoned.
ReplyDeletei and other would be willing to pay as much as 30 for an app like this its what ARUnchained cost UGH Android 1 ups iPhone again they have ARUnchained & ARLiberator which both offer full mirroring with touch function also.
