Tell Us Which Device Setup Is The Best For Navigation While Driving [Poll]

This week's poll question aims to find out which device you think is the best to use for navigation while driving. There are many options we have while driving these days. The smartphone era has changed the device landscape completely.

Standalone GPS devices became very popular very soon and at some point in time almost everyone had one. Even to this day a lot of people use them. Then there are AppRadio-like head units which either have built-in GPS Maps or run them off of smartphones.

Some people may prefer using smartphones alone for their navigation needs. While others may have built-in navigation systems that came with the car they purchased, pre-installed by car manufacturers.

Printed Maps aren't completely dead either.

So please vote below or in the left column where the poll question will be up for the next few days. Each mode of navigation has its own advantages and disadvantages. It will be interesting to see what the final results will show.

What's the best mode of navigation while driving?

  1. Appradio has the potential to be the best, but at this point the software is too clunky to make the cut. It's easier to use google maps and just toss the phone on the dash.

    1. My grandpa swears by printed maps. He says GPS devices take you on longer routes. Lol.

  3. AppRadio is a bit clunky at first, and not the best at multitasking but I'm still a fan. It's a step in the right direction. Built-In Car Nav only stands a chance if there is iOS/Android app integration so you can at least input the address from your Smartphone. It's a slow marriage between the two that we really want. (for ultimate multitasking ability) Right now if you leave the GPS app it vanishes off the screen. At least the voice prompts keep going with popups though.

  4. Waze + appradio. Just wish the forward and back buttons would change songs in iTunes even when in app mode.

  5. GPS Drive Motion X with AppRadio is the best GPS navigation a car could have hands down.
