CONFIRMED: White Lightning Extension Cable From iMod.Co Works!

We have finally found a working lightning extension cable to use with the Apple digital AV adapter connected to an AppRadio. Some of our readers have already reported positive results from these cables.

The cable can be purchased from the overseas website iMod.co. I purchased the white colored cable and it works great.

Priced at $9.90 (plus shipping which is about $3 to the US), iMod.co ships to most countries. The description suggests the cable is also compatible with the new iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. I have tested the cable with my iPhone 5.

The build quality of the cable looks good. The ports look secure and clean. Time will tell if these cables will fray like most other cables.

I plan to use this cable in my car so I can hide the digital AV adapter in the center console and have only this cable sticking out from the dashboard. After I've completed the install I will post some pictures of my setup.

The main purpose of seeking to find a lightning extension cable like this one was to reduce wire clutter in the car. If you use an iPhone 5 or later with your AppRadio, you have an HDMI cable, lightning USB cable and the digital AV adapter sticking out and in plain sight.

It would've been nice if the cable was black but black cables have funnily had compatibility issues. Maybe I'll do what our reader "JazJon" did and plasti-dip the cable black like this

You can purchase a lightning extension cable from iMod.co (and hope it works) by clicking here.

  2. Ugh, can't buy any of these, my credit union doesn't allow out of country purchases and won't lift the rule. Dumb. I guess I'll have to scrunch that app AV converter into my AC vent

  8. Received my cable, it works just fine, however now I dont need it, I rewired my mount onto my center console on my Jeep and my cable are nearly hidden using the apple converter cable. Guess I'll throw my cable in the glove box.

  18. I have bought this cable in both black and white from Amazon and have no problem using my iPhone 5s with the AppRadio 3 and iOS 7.1.

The only problem is that the head is too wide for my case. I had to buy a case with an open bottom.
