Elon Musk Clarifies He Doesn't Hate Apple, Says Apple Watch Is Beautiful

Elon Musk wants everyone to know he doesn't hate Apple.

The Handelsblatt interview where the Tesla Motors CEO referred to Apple as being a "Tesla Graveyard," was from last month. But the news started circulating just a couple of days ago among popular blogs and news reporting sites in the United States, which prompted Musk to clarify what he meant in the interview.

According to a tweet from Elon Musk on October 9 (@elonmusk):

Yo, I don't hate Apple. It's a great company with a lot of talented people. I love their products and I'm glad they're doing an EV.

And another tweet regarding the Apple Watch:

Regarding the watch, Jony & his team created a beautiful design, but the functionality isn't compelling yet. By version 3, it will be.

So even though Musk tried to smooth out what he said in the German publication's interview, he was still critical about the Apple Watch. Maybe we shouldn't read much into this. Could be friendly jabber after all.

In the Handelsblatt interview, Musk said Apple hires engineers that aren't good enough to work at Tesla and get fired. He also suggested making a car isn't as easy as making a watch or and iPhone.

A few years ago, Musk was famously rumored to take over Apple after Steve Jobs.
