Motorola has published a blog post enlisting the smartphones that will get the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. 2015 Moto G and Moto X Play owners will be getting the update along with a few other devices.

- 2015 Moto G (3rd gen)
- 2014 Moto X Pure Edition in the US (2nd gen)
- 2014 Moto X in Latin America, Europe and Asia (2nd gen)
- 2014 Moto G and Moto G with 4G LTE (2nd gen)
- DROID Turbo
- 2014 Moto MAXX
- 2014 Moto Turbo
- Nexus 6
The blog post also says Motorola will be announcing a possible availability date and more information in the coming weeks. An excerpt from the post reads, "we have high standards, so we'll work fast but we won't push the upgrades out until we know they're ready."
In recent times, the 2015 Moto G had major issues with Android 5.0 Lollipop in getting Android Auto to work. Google announced they were aware of the issue and offered to work on a fix with Motorola. The Android Auto site still mentions the problem, but whether a fix was released for those users is not known.
I will be testing out Android Auto with Marshmallow as soon as I get the update on my Nexus 5. Stay tuned for that.
