Waze Integration Into Google Maps Has Begun [Report]

Google acquired Waze back in June this year with one main aim, improve the already awesome, Google Maps. The plan was to do so by integrating the social features of Waze for reporting traffic conditions into Google Maps.

The integration has begun, and as reported on the Google Maps Blog, the service is now better than ever.

Here is an excerpt from the blog post from Google…

Users of Google Maps for Mobile will now benefit from real time incident reports from Waze users. This means when Wazers report accidents, construction, road closures and more on Waze, the updates will also appear on the Google Maps app for Android and iOS in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, France, Germany, Mexico, Panama, Peru, Switzerland, UK and the US.
Other features include inclusion of Google Search in the Waze app. Looks like Google will leave the Waze app as it is. There were rumors about them pulling down the Waze app after they acquired it and having just one integrated Google Maps app. That doesn't seem to be the case as of now.
