Toyota To Recall 6.39 Million Vehicles Worldwide For Various Faults


Toyota Motor Corporation will recall 6.39 million vehicles across the world for a variety of faults ranging from steering wheel to seat issues issues. This will be the second largest recall to date for the company.

About 3.5 million vehicles are believed to have a faulty spiral cable which could be damaged when the steering wheel is turned, causing the air bag to fail to activate during a crash. Another 2.32 million vehicles are being recalled to check the rails that could cause the seat to slide forward in a crash.

Of the nearly 6.5 million vehicles being recalled, about 1.77 million vehicles were sold in the United States. A total of 27 Toyota car models are affected.
