Apple Sets WWDC 14 Dates As Everyone Awaits iPhone 6 Announcement

Apple has announced dates for its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) which will be held as usual in San Francisco, CA. This year's installment is scheduled for June 2-6.

WWDC is possibly the most anticipated event from Apple every year because everyone expects announcement of a new iPhone.

The next generation smartphone which will most likely be called iPhone 6, is believed to be a major update especially since the last (two) iPhones announced (5S & 5C) weren't viewed as much of an upgrade from the iPhone 5.

For car tech enthusiasts, WWDC 14 will be one to watch because Apple may reveal more details about its upcoming CarPlay. App developers are curious to know if Apple will open up the SDK for everyone to make their apps CarPlay compatible. Early guessers believe that's unlikely to happen.

It will also be interesting to see how the iPhone 6 will play along with car stereos like the AppRadio. Apple is more than likely to persevere with its lightning connector for the new iPhone.

There are rumors suggesting Apple will announce two larger iPhone's sometime this year. Here's a stunning iPhone 6 concept from 'OvalPicturE'...

Previous WWDC event tickets have become available and sold out within a couple of hours of announcement. This year Apple will do things a little differently. The opportunity to purchase the $1599 per head tickets will be offered by a random selection process. To enter the lottery you will need a developer account with Apple.

Visit the WWDC 14 website for full details.
