Many of you have been asking about the differences between the various Pioneer NEX receivers. The five NEX receivers were only made available for purchase a few weeks ago with limited information on how each one differs from the other. After all, the price differences between the head units must have a reason or two.
So, after yesterday's CarPlay Media Event from Pioneer, I went through the information provided by them about each head unit and compiled a table with what I could find so far. Check it out after the break (click image for larger, clearer view)...
This list is just getting started. I will continue to update it as more information becomes available. For now though, here are the major differences, both hardware and software, between the five receivers (AVIC-8000NEX, AVIC-7000NEX, AVIC-6000NEX, AVIC-5000NEX & AVH-4000NEX).
Purchasing Info: Despite Pioneer's suggested retail prices, lower prices can be found from online retailers like Amazon. I am including affiliate links to purchase...
Suddenly with carplay I no longer care about inputs, I am so glad they only need USB for it, I was getting tired of all the different wires that are needed for AppRadio mode.
ReplyDeleteNow I only wish they would release a model with the USB input infront of the unit to take off the cable when not needed.
I have some concerns about Carplay it seems that's not going to support Video, isn't it?
