Android Auto and CarPlay will be available in the 2016 Optima through Kia's UVO infotainment system. With both softwares, drivers get to use basic smartphone functions like phone calls, messaging, music etc. All functions work using touch and voice commands (Google Voice and Siri respectively).
In addition to Android Auto and CarPlay, Kia offers safety features like geofencing, speed alerts, curfew alerts, and driving score. These features are designed to help parents keep tabs on their teenage drivers.
Other features include rear cameras with 360-degree views on certain trims. Advanced safety features like advanced smart cruise control, blind spot assist, lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert, rear parking assist, front collision warnings, lane departure warnings, and emergency braking are available on high-end trims.
The sound system in certain trims features an optional 10-speaker system from Harman that uses 630-watt amplifier and Clari-Fi technology.
