Did iOS 7.1 Fix AppRadio Screen Resizing Issue? [UPDATE: Fixed]

UPDATE: The screen resizing issue has been fixed in iOS 7.1. However, the screen now flickers each time it tries to resize but remains fullscreen.

Apple released iOS 7.1 for download this morning with various bug and performance fixes. AppRadio users may gain from the update when it comes to the notorious screen resizing issue which has plagued the device for a while now.

I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 7.1 earlier today and had a chance to use my AppRadio 3 (SPH-DA210) for about 15 minutes after that. The screen did not resize during that time.

Usually within a few minutes of connecting my iPhone to the AppRadio and being in AppRadio Mode the screen would resize. The issue was believed to be iOS generated. Resizing happened when a background app notification arrived to the phone.

I will continue to use iOS 7.1 with my AppRadio over the next couple of days for a lengthier stretch of time and report back. As of now, the screen resizing may be long gone.

Stay tuned!

  1. Is there a 3rd party lightning to HDMI adapter? Apple's adapter sucks, I have it and I lose signal with the smallest movement of the phone, and going by the reviews on the Apple store itself of the adapter, it seems I'm not the only one.

    1. Take a toothpick and clean out the connector opening in your iPhone. It is most likely filled with pocket lint. Mine had a surprising amount when I didm this last and all connection issues are gone.
