It was only a matter of time. Moments after making firmware updates available to European and UK first generation AppRadio users, Pioneer Electronics USA has now posted the same update for its American customers. The updates are available for SPH-DA01 and SPH-DA02 models.
Those of you using the iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S running iOS 7 should be relieved now. Compatibility for these devices has been restored.

SPH-DA01
Firmware Update Version 2.64 released October 23, 2013
This update contains the following improvement:
- Compatibility with iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S running iOS 7
Instructions PDF on how to install this update is here.
Notes:
- Check to make sure the AppRadio model number you have is SPH-DA01.
- This update requires firmware version 2.64 installed first. Links for these previous versions are in the Instructions PDF linked above. Read the step-by-step guide carefully before installation.
- Update zip file contains the CE66 folder which has to be copied to a microSD card and loaded onto the AppRadio to update.
SPH-DA02
Firmware Update Version 4.17 released October 23, 2013
This update contains the following improvement:

ReplyDeleteHELP. I have tried to update the firmware and it seems it just won't update, the ce66 folder on the microsd card and when i insert it into the radio and restart it, no update happens. PLEASE, if youi\ know whats wrong please respond Thank You
