ARLiberator Gives Full Android Phone Control On AppRadio 2 [Video]

ARLiberator is an Android app available on Google Play. Don't let the $35 price tag throw you off because if you own an Android Phone and an AppRadio 2 (or any other AppRadio Mode enabled Pioneer device compatible with Android) then ARLiberator maybe an essential purchase for you. The app basically outputs your phone's display onto the car stereos screen but gives you full touch control too. That way you can fully control your phone from the head unit. It's like having your phone in your dashboard. Check out the following video for more details.

YouTube user 'India Delgado' has made a terrific demo video showing how ARLiberator works. He uses his Samsung Galaxy S3 to demonstrate the features. The video is quite self descriptive so watch it for full details.

I don't have an Android phone but if I did I would definitely buy ARLiberator. Hopefully at some point we will get full touch controls for the iPhone. It would have to happen through a jailbreak though. Currently touch controls are only available through AppRadio Mode but not through mirroring. Maybe there will be an ARLiberator for iOS soon.

You can get ARLiberator for Android on Google Play today.

Thanks to 'India Delgado' for the video.

  1. This app is terrible. Crashes constantly and when I I contact the developer for support he is rude and abusive. The reviews in the Google play store are mainly bogus.

  4. Hi is it possible to play music from your ipod (I have an ipod classic) and use an android app at the same time (for example Google Navigation)?

    1. Yes, it is possible. You can mix either the am/FM radio or the iPod audio with the android screen (and sound).

ARL is what AppRadio needs to be compelling product. Too bad development seems have stalled and compatibility with some phones is not full.

  5. This app is awesome!! I have no idea why one reviewer said it was terrible. Maybe using an outdated phone or Android OS?

  8. Do you still need to have the emergency brake bypass to use this app or does this app bypass it automatically? My phone shows connecting but the screen just has the message saying that you cannot watch video while driving.
