In case you missed it, check out this video from Parrot which it released back at CES 2015 showing their upcoming device, the RNB6 (project codename). The double-DIN aftermarket receiver will be capable of both, Apple CarPlay and Google's Android Auto.
The video also shows the various connection ports available on the device and other features available in addition to CarPlay and Android Auto.
Apart from CarPlay or Android Auto, the RNB6 can function as a stand-alone device running Android 5.0 Lollipop. This includes services like an integrated navigation system, driver assistance services, advanced voice commands for telephony, apps, radio and navigation.
There is also OBD2 connectivity which will provide vehicle health maintenance information. Customizable steering wheel controls, TPMS support, parking sensor information, air conditioner control and much more will be available right from the device too.
Pricing and availability information is still not available although most are hoping for a Spring 2015 release. Competing devices like Pioneer's second generation NEX receivers are scheduled to go on sale anytime soon.
