Latest AppRadio App Update Allows Custom Backgrounds [Video]
Pioneer's own AppRadio app has been updated to version 1.8.1 (iOS). This update includes one feature that was perhaps missed the most (apart from the glitch fixes). The app now allows you to use your own custom background on the AppRadio. Previously this couldn't be done directly from the device.

Pioneer Confirms AppRadio Compatibility With iOS 6; No Word On The iPhone 5!
Pioneer Electronics has sent out emails confirming compatibility of their AppRadio line of products with Apple's latest iOS 6. All head units with Advanced App Mode will work with iOS 6 running on the iPhone 4S and 4. However, there is still no word on whether the new iPhone 5 which ships tomorrow will work with AppRadio through the 30-pin to Lightning adapter.

User Video Shows AppRadio 2 Working With A Samsung Galaxy S III [Video]
This recently updated video by YouTube user 'MetalManthey' shows the Pioneer AppRadio 2 and Samsung Galaxy S III working together. From the video below you can see that the Advanced App Mode mirrors the phone's display onto the AppRadio 2. Mirroring only happens when using an Android device in Advanced App Mode. iOS users are used to seeing a 'Connected to AppRadio' screen on their iDevices. Check out the video below.

[App Updates] Extra Mile And Netflix Apps Updated
This week, Extra Mile, the navigation and trip logging app has been updated to version 4.7.8. Also, even though it isn't officially AppRadio compatible but works well with the car stereo, Netflix has been updated to version 2.2.1. Here are more details of both updates.
AppRadio Firmware Updates Available
Pioneer Electronics has posted firmware updates for their AppRadio line of products. Both, AppRadio (SPH-DA02) and AppRadio 2 (SPH-DA100) have received these updates which can be downloaded from Pioneer's website. Updates have to be performed the same way as before. Read on for more details.

EC Touch Is The Latest AppRadio Compatible App [Video]
Easy Car Touch or EC Touch is a free app developed by Motus Lab out of Italy which is AppRadio compatible and available in the US App Store. The app brings together the most commonly used features and apps while driving to one easy-to-use interface. Here are a couple of videos showcasing the app and more details.
I played around with EC Touch for a while this morning and I can confirm that it works nicely. There were a couple of issues I ran into which I've mentioned later on.
