Say Goodbye To Red Lights With Audi's Traffic Light Assistance
Audi will integrate a system called the Smart City Traffic Light Assistance into Audi Connect and its Multimedia interface which helps drivers get to know traffic lights better. The system is designed to help save fuel and time by alerting drivers on potential light changes right on their car's instrument display.
The Smart City Traffic Light Assistance system was announced at CES 2014 earlier this year and was tested in Berlin, Las Vegas, and Verona at the time. The technology is ready for primetime and will soon be integrated into every new Audi model.
See-Through System Helps Drivers Pass High Profile Vehicles With Ease [Video]
Car companies like Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Mazda are already investing resources in developing vehicle to vehicle (V2V) communication systems. The U.S. Department of Transportation is also doing research on V2V systems which is looked at becoming an important tool in reducing road-traffic accidents.
One such system based on similar principles is the See-Through System (STS) which uses low-latency video streaming and dedicated short-range communication (DSRC) to aid drivers get a better view of the road ahead. The video below explains how.

Kenwood Advanced Smartphone Integration Supports iOS And Android [Video]
Kenwood has posted a couple of promo videos showing how their 2014 line of head units handle smartphone integration. Using screen mirroring and app modes, users will be able to enjoy smartphone functionality, for both iOS and Android, on their car receivers.

2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Will Do CarPlay Without Touch Functionality [Video]

Man Gets Ticket For Driving While 'Vaping' An Electronic Cigarette
A man in Upstate New York couldn't understand why he was getting pulled over. But when he did pull over he was shocked on getting cited for using a cell phone while driving when all he was doing was 'vaping' an electronic cigarette.
Jason Dewing was ticketed for violating a law that doesn't exist. In New York though, there are laws prohibiting the use of cell phones and other electronic devices while driving. There are no laws that prohibit smoking a tobacco cigarette while driving.
The officer who cited Jason wrote him up for using a cell phone. So when the case went to court things got interesting. According to this report on Examiner.com that managed to interview Jason over the phone, this is what happened.
