It Might Be A While Before We See An iOS 8.3 Jailbreak [Jailbreak]

Here's some bad news for those of you using a jailbroken iPhone at the moment and waiting to upgrade to iOS 8.3 - It might be a while before we see a stable, untethered jailbreak for Apple's latest software.

Apple released iOS 8.3 a week ago and developers in the jailbreak community sifted through the code to find out that most of the exploits being used in the current TaiG jailbreak have been patched by Apple.

Renown jailbreak developer MuscleNerd, tweeted this last week...

This actually is a massive win of sorts for Apple because with previous iOS releases, jailbreaks were possible almost instantly. With 39 security bugs reportedly patched, developing a jailbreak for iOS 8.3 becomes a herculean task.

Although the future looks bleak right now, jailbreak enthusiasts have often kept faith in developers to ultimately find a new exploit at some point. As of now, iOS 8.1.2 is the last known stable untethered jailbreak version. These days, three front-running teams are involved in developing a possible hack (almost independently): Pangu, TaiG & PP.

So if you have an iPhone running a jailbroken version of iOS 8.1.2, developer MuscleNerd advises against updating to iOS 8.3 for now. Stay tuned for further updates.
