Not All CarPlay Compatible Apps Have Been Updated For Use Yet

If you visit Apple's CarPlay webpage, you will see a list of eight third-party apps that are believed to be compatible. These are Podcasts, Beats Music, iHeartRadio, MLB At Bat, Spotify, Stitcher, CBS Radio and Rdio. Even though Apple claims these apps will work with CarPlay it isn't the case.

The apps have to be updated by developers to enable CarPlay compatibility. Out of the eight apps, only three apps are CarPlay compatible at the moment.
1. Podcasts: Apple's own Podcast app is accessible from the CarPlay menu and features a simple, easy-to-use interface.

2. Spotify: Spotify was updated a couple of days ago to add CarPlay compatibility. Even though the app now appears in the CarPlay menu, some users have experienced issues when trying to use the app. Further updates may be coming.

3. Rdio: Rdio is already CarPlay compatible. Developers announced this a few days ago. Rdio is a subscription-based music streaming service that is direct competition for services like Spotify and Beats Music.

We will continue to keep an eye on the list of compatible apps from Apple. New apps are added without official announcement from the Cupertino company. New app icons are sneakily added. The rest of the apps will get updated eventually with CarPlay compatibility.

Stay tuned for the latest.
