Pioneer's latest AppRadio 4 (SPH-DA120) may soon become the hottest selling car head unit given that it is CarPlay capable. Although Pioneer announced the device will be shipping immediately to big box and online retailers, we are yet to see it listed for sale in any of those places, with the exception of one.
Crutchfield is one of the authorized dealer of Pioneer products and the retailer has listed the AppRadio 4 for preorder. And if you end up purchasing it from them, they offer some freebies too.
According to Crutchfield's AppRadio 4 listing, the purchase is eligible for FREE installation gear and custom install instructions. Installation gear includes mounting kits, wiring harness and other parts. The estimated ship date for the device is unknown at the moment. The head unit is priced at $599.99.
Best Buy, which is also an authorized dealer, does not even list the device on their site. The following graphic shows the other authorized Pioneer resellers.
All the other resellers (Abt, Avenue Sound, Car Toys, Custom Sounds, Electronic Express, Sound of Tri-State, The Specialists, Stereo West Autotoys, and Walmart) have not listed the device for sale yet.
Although Amazon is not an authorized Pioneer dealer, we have continually found low prices from the online retailer on most products. Pioneer NEX head units for example, can be purchased for hundreds of dollars less than suggested retail prices. The AppRadio 4 is not available for purchase from Amazon quite yet though.
