Will Apple Announce A Car Entertainment Product At WWDC 2013?

Apple announced dates for it's annual Worldwide Developer Conference for this year earlier this morning. WWDC 2013 will be held from June 10-14 in San Francisco. Tickets for the event sold out in a couple of hours. WWDC is a hot selling event for one main reason; new product launches from Apple. So will this year's event include a car entertainment product from Apple?

AppRadio Extensions With iPhone 5 Support A Work In Progress [Jailbreak]

We've reported about ARLiberator and how you can control your Android phone through AppRadio 2 using full touch controls. Unfortunately at this time there is no such solution for the iPhone 5. But it might not be long before we do see an ARLiberator like alternative. I'm talking about Mike DeCaro's AppRadio Extensions.

Cover Flow On The AppRadio 2

If you're using an HDMI cable to connect your iPhone 5 to the AppRadio 2 then you can mirror your phone's display onto the car stereo's screen. But you can't have touch controls on the AppRadio 2 (only Android users can have this functionality using ARLiberator).

ARLiberator Gives Full Android Phone Control On AppRadio 2 [Video]

ARLiberator is an Android app available on Google Play. Don't let the $35 price tag throw you off because if you own an Android Phone and an AppRadio 2 (or any other AppRadio Mode enabled Pioneer device compatible with Android) then ARLiberator maybe an essential purchase for you. The app basically outputs your phone's display onto the car stereos screen but gives you full touch control too. That way you can fully control your phone from the head unit. It's like having your phone in your dashboard. Check out the following video for more details.

CarMediaPlayer Version 1.5.0 Adds iPhone 5 Resolution Support

CarMediaPlayer has become an important app these days when using your iPhone 5 with AppRadio 2 connected through an HDMI cable. With the HDMI connection the 'iPod' button on the AppRadio 2 is greyed out and cannot be accessed. To play music you need to use CarMediaPlayer through the AppRadio app in AppRadio Mode. The latest update to CarMediaPlayer has added iPhone 5 resolution support amongst a couple of other things. Full details are below.

Question: Which Pioneer Car Stereos Support AppRadio Mode Through Android?

I received a question from one of our readers recently which I think should be answered here for the benefit of all. Here it is...

I have an HTC Evo 4G LTE running Android 4.0.4. I'm looking at getting a Pioneer system for my car but want to be able to use apps on it from my phone. Do you know which Pioneer models have this feature for my phone? Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.
