iPhone 5S More Popular Than iPhone 5C [Poll Results]

The readers of our website have voted either in favor of upgrading to the iPhone 5S or not upgrading at all. We ran a poll just before Apple made both the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C available for purchase yesterday.

Apart from the results from our poll there are other signs that suggest the iPhone 5S is going to be more popular than its less technologically advanced sibling.

Our poll asked the question "Which new iPhone are you getting?" and received a total of 52 votes. The iPhone 5C received only 2 of those 52 votes. The other 50 votes were divided equally between those who said they would get the iPhone 5S and those who said they weren't interested in upgrading.

The iPhone 5S went on sale yesterday and within a few hours the wait times for getting one shipped to you slipped to 7-14 days. As of now, close to 24 hours after launch, the fastest you can get an iPhone 5S from the Apple Store online is sometime in October. There are no specific dates or days mentioned. Delays are global, not just here in the U.S.

The iPhone 5C went on preorder on September 13 (a week ago) and can be bought online or at an Apple Store starting yesterday. Shipping times are still within 24 hours of purchase when bought online. This means either Apple made a ton of iPhone 5C units and have managed to keep waiting periods low or that model isn't selling well. The iPhone 5S on the other hand seems to have been very popular, much like previous iPhones.

Initial unboxing videos of both the iPhones are already available on YouTube. The Gold iPhone 5S seems to be the most popular color yet.

Let's see how long it takes for shipping times to drop again. If you want to buy an iPhone 5S, I suggest trying your local Apple Store. Stores receive fresh stock every day but you have to get there early. Also try visiting your cellphone service provider's store (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint or T-Mobile). They get a few units too.
