PIONEER TAKES NEW APPROACH TO PRINT ADVERTISING WITH NEW AUGMENTED REALITY ADS

Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. is taking a completely new approach to conventional print advertising with the new “See What You’ve Been Missing” Car Electronics augmented reality ad campaign.  As the first aftermarket industry AR advertisement, the campaign combines traditional print ads with today’s digital technologies using smart devices to bring the ad to life with virtual 3-dimensional images of Pioneer in-dash car stereo products.

With the “Pioneer AR Experience” app, available on the iOS and Android™ platforms, consumers will see realistic in-depth product images that they can interact with simply by pointing their smartphones to the print ad and engaging with the features hotspots.  Consumers can also conveniently download the Pioneer AR Experience App by texting “Pioneer” to 271262.

The Pioneer AR Experience allows consumers to “swipe” across the device screen to switch among four popular in-dash receivers: the AppRadio 3 smartphone receiver, the AVIC-Z150BH navigation receiver, the AVH-X8500BHS multimedia DVD receiver, and the DEH-X8500BH CD receiver.  Users can also learn more about features and technologies by touching different areas of each featured Pioneer product.

The “See What You’ve Been Missing” print ads hit newsstands on August 15 and can be found in August and September issues of industry, trade, automotive, consumer electronic and lifestyle publications including Dealerscope, TWICE, DUB, Hot Rod, Four Wheeler, Performance Auto & Sound, Super Street and Geek Magazine.  Consumers can also see and print the ad from pioneerelectronics.com/AR.
