Google's latest nexus smartphone, the Nexus 4, works with AppRadio 3 but not with Pioneer's Android Kit. It requires the additional purchase of a different adapter. The Nexus 4 is not included on the AppRadio compatible list of smartphones that Pioneer released a few days ago but there are users who have reported it to work when used with this adapter…

There has been some doubt over the jailbreak tweak, AppRadio Extensions (AppEx) working with AppRadio 3 connected to an iPhone 5. This YouTube video shows the latest version of AppEx working without any issues.
AppEx has gone open source since last week and is available for developers to work on with the help of developer Mike DeCaro. The additional functionality that the jailbreak tweak adds to the AppRadio experience is nicely showcased in the video below.

In a media release today, Pioneer Electronics has announced it has updated its list of AppRadio Mode compatible smartphones. 16 additional Android smartphones have been added.
AppRadio Mode products included the newly launched AppRadio 3 (SPH-DA210 and SPH-DA110), AppRadio 2, AVH-X8500BHS, AVIC-X950BH and AVIC-Z150BH among others.
The updated list of phones and corresponding connection kit information is included below.

Everything you need to develop an app for iOS is at Apple's Developer Center. A recent security break has forced Apple to take down the website in order to fix the issues and restore compromised developer accounts. The site has been down for almost a week now causing great confusion and inconvenience to a lot of developers around the world.

It was announced a few days ago that the real handy iOS jailbreak tweak, AppRadio Extensions (AppEx), was going open source. This means, any interested developer can now get the source code for the tweak and work on improving and updating it.
AppEx developer, Mike DeCaro, has provided a link to a tutorial for developers who aren't familiar with jailbreak coding to help them get started. Details are below.

Apart from being manufactured completely in the USA and fully electric, Tesla Motors' Model S has one feature that stands out to tech enthusiasts. It's the car's bright and sharp 17-inch dashboard display. Even the conventional analog tachymeter and speedometer has been replaced with a LCD display behind the steering wheel. AppRadio Extensions (AppEx) has been a welcome addition to the AppRadio experience ever since it was developed and put out to download for jailbroken devices by developer Mike DeCaro. Well, in a message at Avic411 Forums, Mike has announced that he is making the tweak open source which means developers can get the source code and continue developing AppEx further.

Pioneer has a website setup for app developers who wish to make their apps AppRadio compatible. The website gives developers access to Pioneer's Software Development Kit (SDK). In order to gain access to Pioneer's site your app must already be available for download from the App Store or Google Play. The process of getting the app approved by both, Apple or Google and Pioneer, can be lengthy. About a week ago the Android version of the AppRadio app from Pioneer was updated to version 2.0.0. Among the new features in this version is Google Voice input which has been added to enable users to input text more easily. This was posted in our forums last week. What the user calls a "mysterious issue" has affected his AppRadio 2 rendering it unusable. I thought this issue should be posted here to see if anyone else has experienced this. I haven't heard of this issue myself so it is indeed mysterious to me. Japanese startup company, Terra Motors, makes electric vehicles for Asian markets. One such vehicle called the A4000i is an electric scooter that is being called the first bike of its kind. It runs purely on electric power and features an iPhone dock (Sorry Android users!).

I posted a few unboxing pictures of Pioneer's latest AppRadio 3 (SPH-DA210) a few days ago. Pioneer USA sent me this unit for review along with the connection kits and I've been using it since. Here is my complete initial review of the device after using it over the last week.

A patent filed and granted at the United States Patent and Trademark Office suggests that Apple might me looking to make their own in-car dashboard. The patent filing says Apple wants to replace your entire dashboard with their own touchscreen-enabled dash which will control everything from temperature to music.

GPS-maker, Garmin, is coming out with a new device that promises to be a one-of-a-kind. It's called Head-Up Display or simply HUD which connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth.
