iOS 7 Will Make The Next iPhone More Car Friendly [Opinion]

Apple's next installment of iOS which is due later this year is bound to bring many surprises. iOS 7 will most probably be announced at WWDC 2013 in June of this year. Apple's profits have been down in the last quarter and their stock price has plummeted in the last few weeks. Something's gotta give! There needs to be some new exciting product in the mill which will put the company back on track. My bet is on iOS 7. Here's why...

In my opinion, Apple is still trying to find it's feet without Steve Jobs at the helm. After his passing, things have just 'gone with the flow' at Apple. iOS has basically stayed the same for quite a while now. I think it's time there were changes. The same, dare I say, boring interface just feels outdated. And Apple have the right person in-charge of iOS to give it new wings to fly.

In October of last year, Apple fired Scott Forstall, the senior vice president of iOS Software due to the 'Apple Maps' debacle. This resulted in Jonathan Ive being appointed in his place. Ive is a designer and the senior vice president of Industrial Design at Apple. He's basically the brain behind Apple's quality product design. With Ive in-charge of iOS there is a good chance the operating system will get a nice overhaul.

So where does the car-friendliness come in? Over the past year Apple has hinted at jumping into the car entertainment industry. There have been patent applications, hiring of car engineers and introduction of car-friendly features in hardware and software. I think everything points in the direction of a breakthrough development in the car entertainment industry. I, for one, am excited for WWDC 2013. Something exciting is coming!
