Pioneer's flagship AppRadio 3 receiver will launch sometime this summer with a few improvements over its existing AppRadio 2. The new product will come in two models with one having a DVD/CD drive. How different is the newer generation device going to be from AppRadio 2 though? Will the differences make the newer models worth purchasing? Answers to these questions will be found in the coming few weeks as we learn more about AppRadio 3. Here's the first comparison between the two generations; Connection ports.

Different cable kits will be required to connect different phones to the AppRadio 3. There's one each for the iPhone 5, Android phones and iPhone 4/4S/iPod. Additionally, the new MirrorLink interface will require a separate kit. If you're thinking your specific kit will be included with your AppRadio 3 purchase, you're out of luck.

I came across this interesting video showing a Pebble watch controlling music playback on an AppRadio 2. The video was posted on YouTube a while ago by user "Dean Barrett". Watch it below.

For many months AppRadio users have wondered when the SiriusXM app will become AppRadio compatible. It seems like the obvious app to join the long list of compatible apps. But for whatever reason, it hasn't happened. A recent update to the app, however, has added compatibility with Ford SYNC AppLink. Maybe AppRadio is next for the satellite radio provider?

WEBLINK is an app integration technology for in-dash car systems developed by Abalta Technologies. The company focuses on bringing smartphone connectivity to the car through various software and hardware solutions. They make a few other products with similar functionality in mind. WEBLINK isn't an in-dash car system, it's just the technology behind app integration in the car.

Good things come in small packages! The mount you see in the picture above might be another one of those things. Last week I wrote a short post about Airframe, a portable car mount. The guys over at Kenu, the brains behind Airframe, were gracious enough to send out a piece for review. I will let the pictures do most of the describing in this review but here are some additional thoughts about the product.

Apple's next installment of iOS which is due later this year is bound to bring many surprises. iOS 7 will most probably be announced at WWDC 2013 in June of this year. Apple's profits have been down in the last quarter and their stock price has plummeted in the last few weeks. Something's gotta give! There needs to be some new exciting product in the mill which will put the company back on track. My bet is on iOS 7. Here's why...

I always have my eyes open for a good phone mount for my car. Currently I have a DIY mount which works just fine for me. Making the mount required a few tools, raw materials and time. It isn't easy to make but if you have the right tools anything is possible to create. But this post isn't about my DIY mount. It's about a phone mount I came across a few days ago. It's small, it's universal, it's portable and it's called Airframe. Let me tell you more about it.
