Pioneer Electronics has posted an App Spotlight video on its YouTube channel showing how Waze, the social navigation and traffic app, works with AppRadio 2. Waze is currently only compatible with AppRadio 2 through an Android phone. The iOS version of Waze isn't fully compatible yet.
Unlike the iOS version, Waze on Android works with full functionality on the AppRadio 2. When used on the iPhone the AppRadio only acts as an external display for the app with no touch functionality. The interface looks exactly the same as it does on the phone though.
I like using Waze to report accidents and plan my route based on user input. The concept is nice and with the new gesture controls it makes using the app while driving a lot safer. You can download Waze for Android from Google Play today.
